Cydork (Cy)
I'm Cy, a 27-year-old zoologist and artist from Malaysia! I’m a fan of character-focused stories, non-human perspectives, transformation/shapeshifters, and speculative biology. I’ve been searching for comics that combine even half of these elements in a satisfying manner for years, and came to the conclusion that I unfortunately have to fill that niche myself. I started drawing comics relatively recently, in 2019, but have since made dozens of short comics and a handful of slightly-less-short comics. I’ve also been a writer and illustrator for as long as I can remember; I handwrote and illustrated a 13-page story about an abused hamster when I was 5! I hope to publish at least one graphic novel eventually, and I’ve been picking at a script for several years about a cat shapeshifter called Gold, whose life spirals out of control after the sudden reappearance of someone from his past. Another script I have follows a creature from another realm as she tries to restore her immortality, dragging along a washed-up human musician and his parasitic companion for the ride. Nib and Ink Fest will be the second convention I’ve ever boothed at (well, “boothed”), my first one being Comic Arts Festival Kuala Lumpur (CAFKL) in 2025, where This Monstrous Existence debuted. I was also a finalist in the Fumetto International Comic Competition 2024, though I was unable to attend the festival.

Elaine's comics are primarily self published but have also appeared in several anthologies, including the mental health themed "Through The Labyrinths of the Mind" published by Cloudscape Comics in 2021. The Last Band On Earth, her third graphic novel, debuted at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival in June 2025."
