DESCRIPTION:This panel has been cancelled due to the presenter’s personal circumstances. We hope to reschedule it in the future!\nWe live in an age of computerized everything. Technology has made creating and distributing comics easier than ever before\, but just like an EC horror story with an ironic twist every new development comes with a brand new problem. The internet has made it easier to share work\, but also easier to steal it. The ceaseless grind of social media algorithms and webcomic engagement metrics causes some artists to feel like they’re just churning out content instead of making art.nnIs it any wonder that many people choose to take a less technological approach? In this talk Joseph Hewitt will discuss the ways various creators have gone analogue for every step in the comicking process\, from cartooning in traditional media to offline production and distribution. Both the advantages and challenges of a low tech approach will be examined. What does it mean to be an analogue artist in the 21st century? This talk is intended for creators\, aspiring creators\, and people who want to see how sausage gets made.
